Born out of the Canadian Railroad Historical Association (CRHA), Exporail has carried on the legacy of its passionate volunteers who have made it possible to preserve and showcase this rich railroad heritage.
With our society becoming one that is increasingly mobile, the new exhibition reflects current trends and the growing expectations of our visitors.
First presented partially at New Brunswick’s Historic Ministers Island, the exhibition From Last Spike To Art Connoisseur, A Journey With Sir William Cornelius Van Horne was entirely produced by Exporail, the Canadian Railway Museum.
Built in 1882 by the Canada Atlantic Railway, Barrington Station was once located about 1 km north of Barrington, at the junction of the Canada Atlantic Railway line at Cantic and the Grand Trunk Railway line at Hemmingford.
This exhibition showcases a 4,87 meter by 12,5 meter HO scale (1/87 or 1 mm = 87 mm) layout, built by the Exporail’s volunteers and members of the Montreal Railroad Modellers Association, in conjunction with Exporail.
This permanent exhibition on railway safety is produced by Exporail, the Canadian Railway Museum in collaboration with Operation Lifesaver. This initiative promoted by CN is intended primarily for children aged 3 to 7 years old and their parents.
Following the creation of the Canadian Railroad Historical Association (CRHA) in 1932, its members intensified their efforts to accumulate tens of thousands of documents… in their homes!

Discover 20-plus vehicles from our collection. Some of them, such as the gigantic steam locomotive CNR 5702, with its two-meter wheels, are accessible to the visitor.

One of the best railway museums I have visited. The exhibition includes many of the old Montreal tramway trains, and a fully working train ride. One would never expect such a complete railway exhibit in a small town like Delson. If your interested in trains this is a must see.

Been there today with husband and 2 little kids (2.5 & 4 years old)... everyone loved the visit... you need at least 2-3 hours to see everything there... many things to see and learn

Although this is around the corner for us, we had never been there. What an amazing museum, we enjoyed it. It is very well-organized, clean. The boards are informative without been too long to read. You can walk the grounds, or take a short ride on an electric tramway. There are kids friendly expositions and playgrounds. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. A pleasure to visit.
