Exporail Party
Exporail in Celebration – July 18 & 19, 2026
Step into the origins of Canada’s railway history during a special festive weekend at Exporail! To mark this milestone, the replica of the Dorchester, the first locomotive to operate in the country, will take center stage in a unique presentation that transports visitors back to 1836. Costumed interpreters will bring the era to life as railway workers, 19th‑century passengers, and historical figures such as John Molson and Louis‑Joseph Papineau.
Families will enjoy a fun and immersive program including:
- Costume station to dress up like travelers of the past
- Dorchester Passport activity trail
- Wooden steam‑locomotive craft workshop
- LEGO creative workshop
On site, Operation Lifesaver will host an interactive booth promoting rail safety, and children will receive balloons and temporary tattoos.
To round out the experience, hop aboard the NJ34 passenger car for a ride on our heritage train — an authentic journey that has made Exporail famous.
A festive, historical, and family‑friendly weekend awaits — a unique opportunity to celebrate Canada’s railway heritage in a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
