Rail Safety
September 11 to October 4, 2026
Every year, Operation Lifesaver Canada organizes Rail Safety Week in September to raise public awareness, promote safe behaviour around railway tracks, and help prevent incidents at level crossings and on railway property across the country.
In this context, Exporail offers a special themed guided tour highlighting several significant railway accidents. This visit aims to educate and inform visitors about key rail safety issues by exploring emblematic vehicles from our collection, including the metro MR-63 car, the tank car, the CN 5702 locomotive and the VIA 6309 locomotive. Through these stories, you will discover how safety practices have evolved over time and why they remain essential today.
